Soldered the antennas on to the Moteinos. That definitely improved the transmission so the Moteinos communicate the ACKs. Also created a custom Node sketch and successfully tested communicating between two Moteinos. Someone gave me a DHT11 that I used to measure the temperature and humidity. The node sketch is done. Finally, I tried to 3D print a holder for the battery but it was not the right one.

The Home Environmental Sensor Array is working as designed. (See the first part of the project for more information about that.) The next phase of the project is to make a true sensor array with wireless sensor nodes that talk to a central host. The existing Raspberry Pi in the HESA will serve as the central host that collects all data and saves it to the database on the internet. Sensor nodes will collect various types of data – temperature, humidity, open doors, etc. The sensors will communicate to the host using wireless transceivers.
