Fix It Event

We are working with Milwaukee County and Milwaukee Area Time Exchange to put on a “Fix It” event, which will encourage people to bring in broken items for members and friends of Milwaukee Makerspace to help them fix. Let's do out part to help people save money, and keep still useful things out of the landfill! Many of our members are tinkerers, hackers, makers, and problem solvers, and perhaps we can show the general public that some things are very easy to fix with basic problem solving skills.

The event is (tentatively) set for Saturday, August 10th, 2013 from 12pm to 4pm at Milwaukee Makerspace.

the following members expressed interest in taking part:

  • Karen
  • Matt W.
  • Brant
  • Lance
  • Vishal
  • Buggs - PC revival/tuneups, HD replacement [user supplies the new drive], grilling hotdogs/brats for the event
  • Shane T.
  • Linda S.
  • Joe B.
  • Chris H.
  • Christine
  • Bob T. - Electronics, Appliances, anything duct tape will stick to
  • Caitlin
  • Jacob
  • Shane M.

Sam Dodge from Truly Spoken Cycles here in Milwaukee will join us to handle bike repairs.

We probably can't have too many volunteers, as we all have different skills, from electronic to sewing to welding to general troubleshooting.
