  • Vote to prohibit members charging for classes using any public spaces or tools. (Geoff L.)
  • Members that have a commercial lease with Makers Village, they can hold classes in their respective area, using their tools. They must carry liability insurance per the lease with Makers Village ($1 million minimum). They may charge for these classes.

    • Sarah: value in keeping them inside helps re: bad weather, lower sides (easier to empty barrels into)
    • Stefan is emptying them every Sunday
    • Stefan: removing the recycling hopper will just cause people to not recycle.
    • Dan J is looking for a smaller recycling hopper to replace current large one.
    • It will stay as it is.
  • Reaffirm/confirm the below for inclusion in member handbook. (Sarah D)
  1. *Hard lines (rules, not guidelines)
  2. Certain rules for the Makerspace are set by the government. Breaking them can get us shut down. You may NOT:
  3. • Make guns or work on any gun parts.
  4. • Store alcohol in communal spaces.
  5. • Sleep at the Makerspace.
  6. • No maintenance on vehicles inside Lenox.
  7. • Use aerosol paint or finishes without proper, working ventilation.
  8. • Do not use the space as your home or business address.
  • Dan J made a motion to vote on this rules; Stefan B seconded
  • Vote is 7-0 to approved the rules above
  1. • Keep in mind that while the MakerSpace can bring a sense of home - it is not your house - it is a shared resource and should be considered as such.
  • How to handle Disagreements and Disputes? Sarah D
    • Before there's an issue:
    • If you need help and cannot address the issue directly, the BOD and various members of the committees and area champions, can be useful in reframing and understanding the issue, and if need be, escalating the issue. The BOD does not arbitrate in romantic relationships, and will stay in its lane related to space resources.
    • Board is fine with this language.
  • If something does not resolve itself or needs to be escalated, please send a concise email (bit.ly/mmsincidentform) documenting the incident(s) to bod@milwaukeemakerspace.org. ** —–end text –
  • General Discussion:
    • Picnic for Bill C address is on the calendar.
    • Change Google Maps info on when public meetings are.

Meeting adjourns at 7:08 pm.
