I first joined Milwaukee Makerspace in 2012 (give or take) after I started volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters and I was matched with a wide-eyed, curious young person named Elijah who wanted to learn everything.

The Lenox location became our weekend home and launchpad for projects in the electronics lab or trips to Discovery World. Elijah aged out of the program right around the time COVID broke and I became less active in the space, barely keeping up with the Google Group, until this past year when Elijah joined the Makerspace himself as a family member with me.
