Ron Melanz joined the Milwaukee Makerspace in February 2016. He works full-time as an aviation fuel technician at Milwaukee's General Mitchell International Airport, giving him an almost intimate familiarity with many types of commercial aircraft.

Ron, often referred to as Shark, is a Milwaukee native, born in West Allis and raised in the neighborhood of Johnson's Woods.
