Member Project Updates

  • Raymond made a cool sign for the laser lab.
  • Sarah D: The ART CAR
    • Thanks to Chris K, Kathy A and others that helped with the project
  • Jon D: put a sign to cover a hole in the wall.
  • Anna K and Kristi made really cool hand carved spoons at Wolfgang's Kiss My Adze class on Sunday at 1 PM.

Awesome members

  • Anna thanks Kristi and Carlin for the table as well as Tony, Brant, and Dan that launched the 2 new lasers
  • Maya thanks the 60+ members that showed up for SID last Sunday.
  • Jon D thanked Kyle for changing the switch on a saw at Norwich
  • Tim E thanked Mike T and Maya L for starting a Cheese Cake Competition
  • Emily thanked Wolfgang and Bill for helping to make a table
  • Cherie shared a scratch tile she is hanging from a previous iron pour.

Cool Things

  • Cake Decorating
  • 60+ members participated in Sunday's Space Improvement Day
  • Mike T, Kathy L and others got free kilns for the Glass Fusion Area.
  • Giant Settlers of Catan build continues. It is going to be one of the largest games in the world. Feel free to join in. They meet Monday's at 6ish in the woodshop at Norwich.
  • Committee work:
    • Membership - New orientation and mentorship program is being rolled out tonight - Anna K leads
      • Orientation Dates: tomorrow (Wednesday) and Friday of this week.
    • Communication - working on member pamphlet and WIKI update - Sarah D leads
    • Facilities - storage, maintenance, SID projects - Tim E leads

Upcoming events

  • Model Monday. Mondays at 7 pm, Norwich: Fusion 360 Computer Aided Design/CAM class with Carl S.
  • Most Tuesdays at 7:45 pm, Lenox: Stained glass training with Bill C and Tim E.
  • 1st and third Wednesdays of each month at 6-7 PM is NORWICH woodshop training. Must have completed Lenox training first.
  • Wednesdays at Norwich: Ceramics and Cerveza with Jeff M. Check website. Sign up for 3 weeks of classes. Limit 5 people.
  • The last Wed of the month is a fancy project night (for intermediate to advanced students)
  • Wednesdays at 5pm, Norwich: metal casting and mold building.
  • Wednesdays at 6 pm. Norwich: Ceramics and Cerveza.
  • Most Thursdays 6 pm. Steel Tigerlillies women's (she/her pronouns) led sculpture collective at Norwich. Making a disco light for Party/ Wood Powder Coating.
  • Thursdays at 6:00 - 8pm, Lenox: Woodshop Orientation Training (please respond to the message on the Members@ Email List to reserve a spot—there are 4 spots per week). See google groups.
  • 3rd Thursdays: Corel, Cocktails, and Charcuterie
  • Fridays at 6pm, Norwich: Open-Forge-Friday blacksmithing. Norwich. Beginner class this week.
  • Second and third Friday: Board game night.
  • Saturday's Kiss my Adz hand woodworking with Wolfgang at 1PM.
  • Jewelry open hang-out, Sunday April 14th, 11 a.m. and every second Sunday thereafter.

  • When you walk through a door to enter the MakerSpace, have an ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE.
  • Making cool stuff can be frustrating.
  • Please never forget how wonderful this place is and how lucky we are that it is here for us to enjoy, grow, and thrive.

Safety Note

  • Fire Lanes are clearly marked in both buildings.
  • Pls be vigilant and keep the aisles open and free of EVERYTHING.

  • We have over 650 members. Consider them room mates in our 2 buildings.
  • Clean up after yourself.
  • Return tools to their proper spot.
  • Don't be the bad room mate.
