Member Project Updates

  • Sarah/Hapto made a shirt and coat.
  • Ms Roberts making music at the Basilica
  • 3D printing area is now recycling
  • 3D printed a gear for a motor from the hack rack
  • Marcus: crane in metal shop is operational. Can lift 250 lbs.
  • Paul S made part for railroad car.

  • Carl: made a parametric wood box from drawing on Fusion 360
  • Jon D: made a Love O Meter for the maker faire using aurduino.

  • Fusion 360: Model Monday, in person at Norwich on Mondays at 7 PM led by Carl S.
  • Tuesdays, public meetings. Odd days Norwich, even days Lenox.
  • Paint sprayer, Tuesdays, after LENOX meetings: Paint room /spray gun training.
  • Stained glass training, Bill K., Tuesdays by request.
  • Wednesdays, metal casting. (Cast Iron in November?!?!)
  • Ceramics and Cerveza: Wednesdays, 5ish, led by Jeff M
  • Open Forge Friday: Friday 6 p.m., led by Dan J. Beginner class where members will make a coat hook, and second-timer's class.
  • Thursdays at Lenox Initial Woodshop Orientation 6 to 8 pm led by Bob R & Bill R, and Tuesdays, at 7:45pm Norwich differences led by Rick.
  • Ham Radio class, every Thursday after Norwich meeting (except when there's a BOD meeting), Mike T.
  • Board game night: second Friday of month, 6:30 to 9:30 at NORWICH (Kathy L.) Next game night is October 14th
  • Milwaukee MakerFaire: October 22nd and 23rd, at Discovery World. Call for Makers is OPEN.
  • Next Board of Directors meeting is Oct. 20 at 7 PM at our Norwich facility in the Meeting Room. This meeting is open for to all members to participate.
  • 2nd Thursday of the every month will be 3D printing training at LENOX meeting room at 7 PM. Next class is Oct. 13. Co-champions are Tim C and John.
  • Space improvement day is Sunday, October 30th from 1 to 4 PM. No making from noon to 5 PM.

Helpful hint

Rule and Regulation of the Week

  • Hack racks are “extras” for members use on their projects.
  • If you are concerned that you are using too many items from the hack rack, as a Board Member.
  • If you are not concerned that you are using too many items from the hack rack….should you be concerned?

Member Topics and Announcements

  • Marcus: a group buy for a 3 M orbital sander (similar to FessTool). Cost is ~$400.
  • Anderson: anyone with Blue or White button down collar shirts you are not using will be used in a quilt.
