Safety Note

  • Don't wear jewelry while using equipment
    • No one wants to untangle you from a machine, the paperwork alone is headache-inducing
  • Less-serious safety note: Check the structural integrity of the chair you're about to sit down into before throwing all your weight down onto it. The Space got a heck of a deal on these chairs.

Helpful hint

  • This week's helpful hint comes from the 50th Anniversary issue of MAKE magazine
    • When you make a mistake on a project, take the time to figure out how to fix or hide your mistake.
    • It is so much easier than starting over and more rewarding than just walking away from a project.
    • Remember: you are a MAKER

Rule and Regulation of the Week

  • Before you operate any power tool in the LENOX woodshop, turn on the dust collection system for that tool. Not sure which dust collection to use….ASK.
  • Jeff Mann (President and Ceramics Area Champion) says DUST is the #1 hazard in the woodshop/all of MakerSpace.
