Agenda

  • Member Recognition for Awesomeness
  • Membership Sign-ups
  • Guest & New Member Introductions
  • Meeting adjourns

Helpful Hint

  • This week's Helpful Hint is from a number of active members:
    • Screws were invented by the Greeks in the 3rd century BC. And they still frustrate us
    • If the hole you are putting a screw back into to, is too large:
      • Carl S says to cut off a zip tie and stick it in the hole, then cut any zip tie hanging out after you put in the screw
      • Rick the Handsome Landscaper suggests rolling up a piece of paper and putting it in the hole. To quote Rick “you always have paper”.
      • Bob R suggests putting a toothpick in the hole.
  • Additional screw tips:
    • Need to get the screw to go in easier: put soap on the threads
    • Need a screw to never come out: put glue on the threads

Topics

  • Maker Fair scheduled for September 24-26. The MMS level of involvement is TBD. Fair being hosted by MSOE
    • CALL TO MEMBERS: A links has been shared with all members to display a project or sell your wares
    • Please sign up to volunteer!

Safety Note

  • This safety note is from Bob R: wear shoes in the shop. Steel toed shoes are even better. To quote Bob “I have seen some nasty injuries on the shop floor when something gets dropped”.
