Meeting #533 Agenda for July 20, 2021

Helpful Hint

  • This week's helpful hint is from Harvey Matyas:
    • It takes a village to keep the markers space clean and safe. Whenever you complete your project/visit and begin to clean up after yourself, always think PLUS ONE.
    • If you are going to empty one garbage can, empty two.
    • If you are going to clean up welding bench, take a little extra time and clean up the other bench in the welding area.

Topics

  • Board meeting on Thursday, July 15th at 7 PM. All members invited to participate.
  • Saturday, July 17th is the Mandolorian gathering at the Norwich from ~10 AM to ~6PM
  • Next Space Improvement Day: Sunday, July 25th from 1 PM to 4 PM.
    • NO making noon to 5 PM.
  • Maker Fair scheduled for September 24-26. The MMS level of involvement is TBD. Fair being hosted by MSOE
    • CALL TO MEMBERS: If you would to display a project or sell your wares, please sign up on line.

Safety Note

  • AVOID kick back with the table saw, never use the gauge and the fence at the same time. Choose one or the other. Use hold down and push sticks. BIG board, get help.

Rule and Regulation of the Week

  • Milwaukee has alternate-side parking overnight. As a favor to our neighbors at the LENOX building, please park on the SAME side of the street as the Makerspace on EVEN days, and on the OPPOSITE side of the street on ODD days. This leaves the overnight spaces open for people who live here (otherwise they have to move their cars after we leave).

Member Topics and Announcements

  • Carl S: FUSION 360 classes will be held at NORWICH (moving from Lenox) beginning Monday, July 19th at 7 PM. Classes can be attended in person, or virtually (Carl will send you the link). Thank you Carl.

  • Carl S started a new Fusion 360 class on Monday June 21st. It is a hybrid class (on-line and in person at Lenox). They are designing a power wheels car. You can join any time.
