Measuring diameters can be difficult. Sure, it works OK to just measure the end, but if you need a higher accuracy, here's another method:

 Take apart one of your combination squares and slide the head to another square so that the straight edges are 
 facing each other. 
 Set one of the square heads at an even measurement and then slide the other head until both are touching the 
 part you're measuring. 
 Read the measurement right off the ruler!

• Events for 2021
• The next Space Improvement Day is Sunday, May 30th from 1 to 4 PM. No making from noon to 5.
  • Alden is working on getting a food truck for the meal. Pls reach out to Faith F on the member message board so we can get a good member count for food.
• Maker Fair scheduled for September 24-26. The MMS level of involvement is TBD. Fair being hosted by MSOE
• Jeff M signed up the MMS to participate in the Bay View Gallery night on June 25th. Need members to help with set up, tear down and to give tours to visitors. Also a great spot to sell your projects.

• Be sure to vote on whether to retain the current Covid protocols or adopt the proposed updated Covid protocols.
• Every members' vote is important on how the MMS moves forward, taking into account the updated CDC and City of Milwaukee guidelines.

• The Norwich parking lot got paved on yesterday (Monday) and will be striped in the next few days.

NO CARS OR TRUCKS ON THE LOT FOR THE NEXT 2 DAYS - not until Wednesday, May 26th.

NO FORKLIFTS, PALLET JACKS, SCISSOR LIFTS or any other heavy wheeled vehicles until SATURDAY, May 29th.

• Dan J showed us the power hammer he recently purchased by crushing an apple. Awesome demonstration. Dan shared that it pulverized the apple so quickly, some of the remains were reduced droplets in the air.

Show Your Pet:

• 5 pets were shared on the screen…3 cats, 2 dogs.
• Good looking group.

• 2 guests, one at each location. One is interested primarily in robotics, the other in micro controllers and the wood shop.
