Member Topics and Announcements

  • Tuesday night is trash and housekeeping night. The dumpster is hungry; feed it!
  • The vacuums on the other hand frequently are over-full. Please help them out by emptying them.
  • Please turn out the lights and check to make sure the 3 gas tanks in the welding area are shut off (lefty loosey, righty tighty). Thank you!

What Did We Talk About

Project Updates

  • Pete showed an old black and white TV with a Raspberry Pi and video with transitions and a relay controlled outlet.
  • Billy has been drilling holes into 1400 CDs for CD Chandelier Supreme which will be 6x6x30 and hang at Maker Faire.
  • Adrian cut 1100 car bodies for the race formerly known as the Nerdy Derby happening at Maker Faire Milwaukee.
  • Mark R. has sand in the sand table and it's running in the east room.
  • Billy will be planning at Maker Faire After Party!

Guest Introductions

  • We had 11 visitors today
  • William is a former member who wants to rejoin. Interested in home brewing two gallons of sweet mead and other things.
  • Shannon joined a few weeks ago, he does software architecture and can help others! He's interested in all the things! (But will help you with software projects!)
  • Bean just moved here four months ago, he can do CNC, 3D printing, welding, blacksmithing, and other things. (Not sure his name is “Bean”.)
  • Trevor first time, is a mechanical engineer who likes motorcycles and is interested in robotics and electronics. He has no tools, but we do!
  • Kayla, mechanical engineer student at UWM needs an awesome place to make stuff and does 3D printing and wood working and is new to Milwaukee and building all of her furniture from scratch!
  • Mike found us through Rob G. from Vennture Brewing, does wood working and wants access to big tools!
  • Becca came a year ago and is now returning and has lots of ideas! She wants to do some electronics and other crafts, dabbled in embroidery.
  • Wade and Ethan are back after they were here long ago and they are interested in doing things Ethan can't do at school or don't have room for at home. No special talents but passionately curious! They want to laser engrave some logos and do some ceramics.
  • Matt is a former member who returned and wants to blacksmith and do other things.
  • Steve is interesting in forging, he is a butcher! Some blacksmithing experience long ago, wants to do it again.
  • Rob is a mentor for high school students building electric cars and he custom designs and builds hybrid electric bicycles.

Recognition for AWESOMENESS

  • A member recognized Adrian for helping with drilling.
  • Jon H. recognized Tony for helping with anti-fatigure mats that were very heavy and also pressure washed them.
  • Bill C. recog Adrian for picking up two scroll saws for Maker Faire.
  • A member recognized Mark R. for help with 3D printing.
