  • Power Racing Series Meeting - Tonight at 8pm in the Craft Lab!
  • The National Week of Making is June 17-23, 2016! The National Maker Faire is this weekend.
  • There are 101 days until Maker Faire Milwaukee… what can you build in 101 days!?
  • Safety Note: There is a 911-enabled cell phone by the board desk in the lobby. It can only make 911 calls. Do you know where the nearest fire extinguisher and first aid kit are?

Member Topics and Announcements

  • There is a re-art swap in Madison on August 6th, 9 am to 3 pm at the Winnebago Studio.
  • Karen mentions the water cooler is having difficulties again
  • Since we are getting on towards summer, kindly wash out your cans after you finish the contents, and dispose of your food waste outside.
  • Please check the doors to make sure they are locked when you are exiting the building
  • Tuesday night is trash and housekeeping night.

  • Karen had been weaving dragons out of gift ribbon
  • Pete brought a box of HDPE shreds from a router at work, and is offering it for making

Guest Introductions

  • Melissa is an ADHD crafter, who works mostly in jewelry, Andrea brought her. She owns Crown Creative
  • Jeff is a TV student at MATC, and is interested in special effects
  • Max is an architecture student, late of USC. David brought him along.
  • Jesse is a student at MATC
  • Another architecture student from MATC who is interested in laser cutting
  • Kelsey works at Marquette. They are hosting a small business/entrepeurship contest, and left material for us on the contest.
  • Ben heard about us from his brother, and is interested in woodworking
  • Travis and his three kids are interested in bringing tech into primary schools
  • Brian's second visit, and has a variety of interests
  • Reya's second visit: she does fiber arts

Recognition for AWESOMENESS

  • Keith recognized Brant for the ceiling fan in the metal shop, and a sign in memoriam for the Mastsura
  • Brant hooked up Steve with a source for wood shop dust collection tubing
  • Marc cut a blank for a knife
  • Lance thanks the BOD for helping while he's been distracted by his new job
  • Jon bought new trash bags
  • Harvey took out a bunch of the trash already (again!)
